Mannheim – Bordeaux in one go
Since we are a bit superstitious and the route via Karlsruhe would have been a bit longer anyway, we threw our original plans (a stop at Limoges and then on to San Sebastián) out the window and drove straight through to Bordeaux from Mannheim.
The second attempt should run differently than the first – also concerning the route.
We had already thought about a stopover in Bordeaux when planning our trip, to show the boys the ebb and flow of the tide at Bassin d’Arcachon. So the kids were allowed to watch Sendung mit der Maus about ebb and flow and then we headed towards Cap Ferret. Shortly before the Cap we found a nice parking lot directly by the sea with Park4Night. After that we spent the whole day at the basin.
