Everything packed, battery charged and even a mover installed

You are working hard to get things done and suddenly it’s there: the day we start to our trip which will last for three months. Before Christmas our battery was running low energy because it was quite cold and the battery didn’t charge due to the fact that we had some led lights running (unfortunately you can’t switch them off). Now we have a main switch to switch everything off during winter times. Thanks to tigerexped (and Arno) we have a reliable solar system in our caravan and we could also decide to sleep somewhere without shore power. But recharging the battery in winter only with the sun when it was so empty is almost impossible. When you have outside 5°C or colder the battery stops charging so you have to heat up the caravan again in order to get the battery charging – almost impossible 😉 But luckily we meanwhile had the possible to park our caravan so close to our apartment that we could charge the battery and now the system is ok. We even could park our car in front of the caravan so tonight we can just hit the road.

In the beginning I was a little reluctant of getting a mover and now I must say it’s really a good investment. You can move the caravan just with a joystick and without women power. Even small hills is no problem. That’s our Allahopetossa moving with the mover:

Oh we even finished the sink in the caravan and we have running water. I refused to install a normal chrome or white plastic tap which I think are really ugly. Now we have our individual solution and I’m happy 🙂

So now everything is ready to hit the road. Because there are not so many camping sites opened in France at the moment we’ll have just one stop a little bit north of Limoges and then drive to San Sebatsian. That’s the plan but’ll see how the plan will work with two kids 😉
